Heavy Equipment Oiler

Compensation: DOE, starting at $35/hour
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Hazmat Certified Heavy Equipment Oiler to operate lube trucks and perform fueling, lubrication, and preventative maintenance on CAT, John Deere, and other earthmoving equipment. This role supports multiple job sites and plays a critical part in maximizing equipment uptime, safety, and performance.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

Operate lube/fuel service trucks to safely transport and dispense fuel, oil, grease, coolant, and other fluids to heavy equipment across multiple job sites

Perform preventative maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacements (fuel, air, hydraulic), and fluid top-offs

Inspect heavy equipment for wear, leaks, damage, and proper operation; identify and report mechanical issues or safety concerns

Read and interpret work orders, service schedules, and equipment manuals to ensure proper maintenance procedures are followed

Maintain accurate service logs, fuel usage records, and inspection reports in compliance with company and regulatory requirements

Coordinate with shop personnel, operators, and supervisors to prioritize equipment servicing and minimize downtime

Assist mechanics with minor repairs and maintenance tasks in the field as needed

Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with environmental and safety regulations

Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance of assigned service truck to ensure safe operation

Communicate effectively with third-party vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts and services

Follow all company safety policies, OSHA standards, and DOT regulations
Qualifications & Skills:

3+ years of experience servicing heavy equipment

Experience with John Deere, CAT, and similar earthmoving equipment

Valid Hazmat Certification

Valid CDL & tanker endorsement with current medical card

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently across multiple job sites

Work Environment:
-
Work is performed primarily outdoors on construction job sites and in active industrial environments

Regular exposure to extreme weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, and rain

Exposure to dust, mud, noise, vibration, and heavy equipment traffic

Frequent travel between job sites throughout the day

Work may involve early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime depending on project needs

Interaction with heavy machinery and moving equipment requires constant situational awareness and adherence to safety protocols
Physical Demands & Requirements:

Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50–75 pounds regularly
-
Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching throughout the workday

Ability to climb on and off heavy equipment and service trucks safely

Manual dexterity to operate tools, hoses, and fueling/lubrication equipment

Ability to work in confined spaces when necessary

Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, and hearing protection

Ability to tolerate prolonged periods of driving and operating service vehicles

Must be physically capable of performing repetitive tasks and working long shifts
