Grading Foreman Position

Compensation: $100,000 - $140,000 per year
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Grading Foreman to join our team in California. In this role, you will manage and oversee grading and excavation activities, ensuring projects are executed efficiently, safely, and within budget. Your leadership and expertise will be critical in maintaining quality standards and achieving project goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning and Collaboration:

Work closely with engineers, subcontractors, and project managers to define project needs and develop detailed work plans.

Plan and coordinate grading activities, including excavation, filling, and leveling, to meet project specifications.

Monitor project schedules and establish performance goals and deadlines.
Supervision and Leadership:

Supervise and manage the grading crew, providing clear instructions and constructive feedback.

Ensure all workers follow proper safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Address and resolve crew concerns, fostering a productive and motivated work environment.
Safety and Compliance:

Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.

Enforce adherence to established grading systems and protocols put forth by management.

Monitor site conditions, including soil and weather, to adjust operations and maintain safety.
Budgeting and Resource Management:

Estimate project costs and monitor budget adherence.

Collaborate with the project manager to ensure grading operations remain within financial constraints.

Order necessary equipment, materials, and supplies, ensuring regular maintenance and readiness.
Quality Assurance:

Conduct regular inspections to ensure work meets project specifications and quality standards.

Monitor progress and provide detailed reports on project status and site conditions.
Qualifications:
5 years minimum commercial Grading Foreman experience.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent communication and time management skills.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting project plans and blueprints.
Familiarity with construction safety regulations and procedures.
GPS Experience
Ability to think analytically and resolve problems efficiently.
The following is a plus, but not required:

Ability and experience to proficiently operate a scraper, motor grader, loader, compactor, Dozer or excavator
